Guido Romero, assassinated by the FARC

In a comuniqué published on February 21st, the ACVC made it known that paramilitaries presumably coming from the town center of Cantagallo had assassinated Guido Romero in the settlement of La Victoria, which took place on February 18th.

After consulting various sources, the ACVC has established that the murder was not perpetrated by paramilitary groups, but rather by the FARC’s 24th front. This lastest version has been maintained, since the events took place, by the mayor of Cantagallo and the regional newspaper Vanguardia Liberal.

Due to the killing, varios families that live in the hamlet of La Victoria have displaced.

La ACVC deplores and rejects this murder and demands that the FARC observes the principle of distinction and not convert civilians into military targets.
